March 2nd Update

Once again, I haven’t had a chance to post in quite a while. I have had a lot going on in my life. Since my last post, I have had a few more Bullet Journal Group sessions. I’ve had a few more people interested in joining. We have done a review of January and will finish February and start working on March’s pages. We learned about adding embellishments and are working our our Index pages.

I had to cancel last week’s group because of an appointment I couldn’t reschedule. I am hoping to resume it next week. I am looking forward to it!

One of my favourite pages that I have found is a monthly Memories Page. January was bittersweet for me. It was my birthday on the 23rd. My husband passed away last year and I miss him so much! This month is my anniversary. It would have been our 22nd. I am planning some self-care activities on that day. I’ll really need it!

Another one of my favourite pages is a tribute to my husband that I’ve created. It has a photo of him that I look at often.

That’s all for now. I’ll let you know how things go with future group sessions. Till then,

— Joyce.

January 3rd, 2019 Update

I haven’t had a chance to post here in quite a while. I’ve been very busy with the holidays and helping out with my granddaughter. Since my last post, I have received some more supplies in the mail: stencils, some more stickers, more washi tape.

I had my first Bullet Journal group yesterday at the Peer Support Centre. Only a couple of people showed up. There were supposed to be a few more people attending. They must have either forgotten about it because of the holidays, or else they were just busy. We’ll have another group in a couple of weeks. Hopefully, I can remind everybody about the group by then. I did a bit of an Introduction to Bullet Journalling. I’ll let you know how the next group goes.

I am still trying to get a feel for how I want my own bullet journal set up. I have a few different binders I’ve purchased that I am using for examples for my group. I’ve started setting a couple of them up already. I will eventually figure out which one will work for me. There are advantages and disadvantages to each one.

That’s all for now. Till next time,

— Joyce.

December 7th Update

My computer has been in the shop for two-and-a-half weeks.  I just got it back a couple days ago.  It had lots of viruses on it.  I’ve missed it so much!  I’m so glad to have it back!

Since my last post, I have received a few items in the mail for my bullet journalling, including:  some stickers, washi tape and a new binder (which I love and got a great deal on!)  I am still waiting for my stencils to arrive.

I am getting some articles together to share with my Bullet Journal Group in the new year.  I am also getting a few supplies together to show them as examples.  I am hoping that my local Peer Support Centre, where I’m having the group, is going to provide some supplies for me.  That would help a lot!

For my first Group session, I will do a bit of an Introduction to Bullet Journalling.  I will describe what a Bullet Journal is, some basic tips and examples of layouts, etc.  The group will be held twice a month.

I will be sharing here some of what I teach in the group.  I am looking forward to it!

What Supplies Will I Use?

I thought I’d let you all know what kinds of supplies I will be trying for bullet journalling.  I don’t have a lot of money, so I’ve bought some supplies at the local dollar store.  Some supplies I got a really good deal on them online.  Here are a few of the supplies I have so far:

  • markers, including silver and gold (my favourite!)
  • stickers
  • paper
  • dividers with tabs
  • a pouch for my stickers
  • a couple of binders
  • an adjustable 3-hole punch
  • a ruler
  • a glue stick

I have also ordered a few things which I have not received yet, including:

  • another binder
  • some stencils
  • some washi tape

I am just in the process of figuring out how I want to set up my bullet journal.  Then I’ll need to actually start physically setting it up.  I’ll let you know how it goes.

Till next time,

— Joyce.

What Will I Share?

Throughout my bullet journalling journey, I will be sharing articles, posts from other blogs, videos and much more.  I will try to put together some resources for you.  I’ll be sharing things from some of my favourite sites.

I’ll let you know what supplies I like to use.  Keep an eye on this blog.

Till next time,

— Joyce.

The Journey Begins

Hi!  My name is Joyce and I have just discovered Bullet Journalling.  I am just starting my own Bullet Journal and would like to share with others what I have learned.  In the new year, I am hoping to start a Bullet Journalling Group at my local Peer Support Centre.  I am attempting to get a couple of month’s worth of bullet journalling done before then to show as an example.  I already have a few people interesting in joining.  I love the idea of making it your own, and decorating it with markers, stickers, etc.  I’ll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for joining me!
